| Spreading the WORD in Boulder City Co. Hook'em horns !! |
This past week I had a chance to get away from work and the city as we, the 8305' crew aka my room mates and I packed our bags and went up to Colorado... Our ultimate plan was to head to the mountains and stay there for like 5 days but I'll get to that later. We started in
Boulder City which that was an awesome decision. I know I said away from the city in the beginning, but this is something else. A different city, hek is just away from home period. All the people were so nice, courteous and friendly; bike friendly as well. Super bike friendly I can say, compare to here in DFW. Even though we didn't get to stay long at all in Boulder, we made the best of the time we had there. As soon as we got the chance to hit the streets with our bikes; yes I said bikes. Mt bikes that is; we def did. There was no way in hell I was not gonna ride especially in the most bike friendly city I had ever been in. I also must say that going bar hopping and riding from bar to bar was cool. I also gotta say that this night I decided to bar hop and ride was also the beginning of the NFL season and who was playing on the sunday nite game that night. None other than my Dallas Cowboys. Well lets just say it went from happy buzz to mad buzz due to the freakin' cowboys !!! But oh well, I was in Boulder. I wanna have fun so, drinks kept coming and the night kept on. For the most part in Boulder City, just about everything is within a small or pretty long ride depending on how good of rider you are. This city doesn't play when it comes to bicycle riding. It was def good times. So if you're ever in the state of Colorado and around the Denver area and want to get out of the big city, drive about 20 to 40 mins to from Denver to Boulder City and see it for yourself. I will def be back here as soon as I can. It was a quick and most def nice stay but this was just the start of El Epic Journey, hahaha !!!!

Our next stay which would be our main place of staying would be
Lake City, Co but before we get there we gotta go thru all this..... So, we're gonna go up and up and up !!!!! This is my first time in this state and as far as the whole elevation thing, I didn't thing it was that bad at least then. But I gotta say that it was more dry out there so chap stick def plays part of your daily life, or at least it did in mine and as you get higher up the mountains; headaches are a for sure thing. Believe me....
Once we arrived there, we did everything we possible could. Let's just say that, pretty much there wasn't enough time in the day for everything we all wanted to do. But regardless, we all managed to do a little of everything but most importantly we all had a great time. We did a little bit of hiking, mt biking, fishing and even swimming. Yes, I said swimming. I got the chance to swim in a hot spring at
Ouray Co which was nothing less than amazing. Ouray is known as the Switzerland of the America, and if you don't believe me, you should check it out for yourself one day. It may not be a huge town but it has some amazing views plus to swim in 100 deg water when the temperature is 50 deg outside, can't beat that. Sight seeing was an every day thing, all you have to do was open your eyes and look at all your surroundings. So if you're tired of the regular city way of life and you're looking for some outdoor adventures, I guarantee you that the beautiful state of Colorado will not disappoint you.
