The First Artes Alley Recap

The Juice, Bub's and I at the Studious booth @ Artes Alley.
The 1st of let's hope many Artes Alley festival at the Rose Marine Theater got started this past sat Nov 5 2011 here in Fort Worth and I think its safe to say that it was a big hit. To be the first art market put together by the Rose Marine Theater I'd say there was a good turn out of people. People came and went thru out the evening but not before checking out all the goodies that local artists had to offer and exposed to the public. The market had anything from paintings, photography, independent labels of t-shirts, face paintings for the kids, music and many many other crafts.... I also gotta say that the event got a very well exposure of all sorts of different media out there. Something that I must say is that I think and believe that none of this probably would have not been possible if it wasn't for the one and only Natalia Margarita. Her visions and encouragement to other artists are the reasons that the art movement in this city seems to be heading to a very promising future. As you people know me, you know that I am not an artists nor I call myself one but I can definitely tell you that I love all sorts of art and the people that are all around it and support it. So with that said, I believe that this type of events will only get bigger and better by showing support to the local artists. With all the local artists and people to support them this art movement in the city will prevail and will make our city a hell of a better city. I also wanna say that aside from supporting the arts, the main reason in which I got a chance to participate in this event was because I got the honor to help and be part of my boy's Bobby C new brand of tees called studious. This was the launch of his very first series of tees and I can't say nothing but good things about him and his product. I can tell all of you that since my other boy Juice and I helped out printing hard copies of 2 designs, help set up and help pick up after, I can tell all of you that it was a great experience to see something go from beginning to end. In the end its a very rewarding feeling seeing your product out there being exposed to the public, I can only imagine my boys' feeling as he put out his first tees out there of his very own brand. I know he's put a lot of time and hard work on this and all I can say is that we are all proud of him and can't wait to see more of his brand as the time comes... I wanna thank anyone and everyone that showed up and supported all of our local artists and also thank everyone that help make this a reality. The event was from 5 - 9ish but I gotta tell you, I ended up staying at the gallery next to the theater til nearly 2 am mingling, networking, and meeting new people. I met so many many new people and all I can say is that I can't wait to hangout sometime, do this all over again and meet more and more interested people with same interests.... Next Artes Alley is schedule for Dec 3 so mark it on your calendar, support your local artists, grab your friends, kids and everyone you know and head out to the Rose Marine Theater; you'll be in for a good time.... See you there !!

El Epic Journey

Spreading the WORD in Boulder City Co. Hook'em horns !!
This past week I had a chance to get away from work and the city as we, the 8305' crew aka my room mates and I packed our bags and went up to Colorado... Our ultimate plan was to head to the mountains and stay there for like 5 days but I'll get to that later. We started in Boulder City which that was an awesome decision. I know I said away from the city in the beginning, but this is something else. A different city, hek is just away from home period. All the people were so nice, courteous and friendly; bike friendly as well. Super bike friendly I can say, compare to here in DFW. Even though we didn't get to stay long at all in Boulder, we made the best of the time we had there. As soon as we got the chance to hit the streets with our bikes; yes I said bikes. Mt bikes that is; we def did. There was no way in hell I was not gonna ride especially in the most bike friendly city I had ever been in. I also must say that going bar hopping and riding from bar to bar was cool. I also gotta say that this night I decided to bar hop and ride was also the beginning of the NFL season and who was playing on the sunday nite game that night. None other than my Dallas Cowboys. Well lets just say it went from happy buzz to mad buzz due to the freakin' cowboys !!! But oh well, I was in Boulder. I wanna have fun so, drinks kept coming and the night kept on. For the most part in Boulder City, just about everything is within a small or pretty long ride depending on how good of rider you are. This city doesn't play when it comes to bicycle riding.  It was def good times. So if you're ever in the state of Colorado and around the Denver area and want to get out of the big city, drive about 20 to 40 mins to from Denver to Boulder City and see it for yourself. I will def be back here as soon as I can. It was a quick and most def nice stay but this was just the start of El Epic Journey, hahaha !!!!

Our next stay which would be our main place of staying would be Lake City, Co but before we get there we gotta go thru all this..... So, we're gonna go up and up and up !!!!! This is my first time in this state and as far as the whole elevation thing, I didn't thing it was that bad at least then. But I gotta say that it was more dry out there so chap stick def plays part of your daily life, or at least it did in mine and as you get higher up the mountains; headaches are a for sure thing. Believe me....
Once we arrived there, we did everything we possible could. Let's just say that, pretty much there wasn't enough time in the day for everything we all wanted to do. But regardless, we all managed to do a little of everything but most importantly we all had a great time. We did a little bit of hiking, mt biking, fishing and even swimming. Yes, I said swimming. I got the chance to swim in a hot spring at Ouray Co  which was nothing less than amazing. Ouray is known as the Switzerland of the America, and if you don't believe me, you should check it out for yourself one day. It may not be a huge town but it has some amazing views plus to swim in 100 deg water when the temperature is 50 deg outside, can't beat that. Sight seeing was an every day thing, all you have to do was open your eyes and look at all your surroundings. So if you're tired of the regular city way of life and you're looking for some outdoor adventures, I guarantee you that the beautiful state of Colorado will not disappoint you.
The famous Alpine Loop was def in my opinion the highlight of the trip. 65 miles of 4x4 terrain on top of the mountains,  took us almost 7 hrs. Higher than ever foreal !!
What a view huh ??
On top of the world !!!!

Ouray's world famous Hot spring.
Juicy J and I on our 4 hour hike...
This ride took everything out of me. Elevation is no joke !!

Pardon the Procrastination

First i gotta say is, daamn is been a while since I wrote on here.... Well I had a few minor set backs but as in now, I am back in the net world !!!!! I finally got a new laptop and you better believe that I am gonna put this puppy to work asap. I've have pretty much been somewhat overwhelmed with work lately so I really can't say is a bad thing. And with more work coming so do more responsibilities with it. But oh well, time to step it up and show what I can do. The past weeks came and went like a blink of an eye to me. Now aside from everything I have going on at work, my boy Cristian n I are still in the works with our upcoming project. It just seems like once I had made the decision in my mind about going thru with this project with Cristian, all this work just staring coming out of nowhere and ready to be done so... But as I said before and will say it again and again "my job will never give me the feeling that I will ever get out of our upcoming project" so with that being said, I have not one single reason on to why should I or better yet, should we not go thru with it... And I must say that we just can't wait !! We're taking baby steps at the time,  learning about something completely new at least for the both of us. but before you know it, if you're a friend of ours or not and at least live around DFW area and are within our age range, I have the confidence that you will hear from us. That may sound over confident but I've always believe that If you don't have confidence on yourself, then it's pretty hard for others to have confidence on you so. With that being said, we both believe we are the only ones that could stop us from going thru with this project so our mind set is just to do what we like,  get crazy with it and last but not least have fun with it n enjoy it. Perhaps as I get on here more on the daily basis, I'll start bloggin' more openly about this and will most def welcome all the feedback as possible.. In all honestly, now having my computer at all times just feels like I have tons to do and lots to catch up with so, I really gotta get the ball rolling n get this project going....

All I can say for now is "Patience"

Networking, networking and more networking !!!

Yesterday our friend Natalia put a group of local and inspired artists together to talk about the arts scene in the Fort Worth area. First, I gotta say that I AM NOT an artist myself but I have always like some type, shape or form of art and I must say that if there is a time that I have been more interested in the art world; the time is NOW !!! It seems to me that the scene is almost inevitable to miss. Because if you keep up with even a bit of the scene now days, you get the feeling that there is something roaring just waiting to burst into our city and from what i hear things are on the works as am writing this..... Like I said, I am not an artist myself but as I wrote on my previous blog my friend Cristian n I are currently working on a really cool and most definetly artistic project that will be out for everyone to see pretty soon I promise.... The whole point for all of us of getting together was to see what it is that each and everyone of us can do to contribute to each others projects but mostly for what we can contribute to the scene of our city. We all have different skills, ideas, views  etc but what we all have in common is the passion for wanting to do something not only for what each one of us can do but what we can do for the scene and our city. With that been said, we are pretty much open to help each other out on anything we can. After all, like our friend Luis said yesterday during our meeting "it is very hard to do things all alone" so what better than to reach out for help from people that you know and could count on. Support to get supported !! Even though we may all have different views and ideas, any idea is better than no ideas. And if I or someone else have any idea that it may not be useful at the time, it may be useful for others. I find it pretty awesome how the art world works and how no matter what type of art it is anyone does, at some point or another artists come together. I must say that regardless of our project being in the process I can honestly say that this is a feeling that I will never EVER get from my regular job and it makes me wanting more and more of this new world I'm beginning to get my feet in. Just speaking for myself, I must say that it has been a long time that I have been looking forward to anything but as of now all I can say is, this has Definitely given me something to look forward to..... So with this said, the ball is rolling so let's get to create !!!!

Welcome

First of all, if you're here reading my very first introduction blog i just wanna say thank you for stopping by. Roman's thoughts n views is going to be about for the most part about my life and about what makes me who i am. I am basically going to share a bit of what goes on in my world n i hope that i can share thoughts n ideas on common interests with others. That is why i created this, networking i guess u could say. Some of my interests are my family n friends of course first and for most, sports, arts, music etc... I consider myself to be a very active guy so with that being said, i like to constantly do new things, look for new ideas, meet new people etc etc.... I've lately come to terms that, no matter what it is that I do in life, if whatever it is that I'm doing does not give me the happiness and satisfaction feeling that i wish to obtain from my accomplishments then is probably not for me. There are some great ideas floating around on what has become my biggest thing to look forward to. I don't want to give out too much as my boy Christian and I are working on what could be our greatest creation... To learn more about what our project will be, I invite you to follow me thru this blog n I hope I get to meet as many people with the same interests as I as you get to know me thru this blog. Thanks.....
